"Making disciples of all nations has to do with transforming communities, as well as human hearts; the creation of communities of love, of grace, of justice and hospitality that look like Jesus Christ," says Bishop Kenneth Carder, who leads the United Methodist Church s Mississippi Area. Carder says the UMC s Board of Discipleship is responsible for evangelism, "and one of the great travesties of the last 100 years is that we have abdicated the gospel as though there are two gospels, a social and a personal," he said. The only gospel that exists is the gospel that manifests itself in the totality of cosmic existence, Carder says.

Jesus repeatedly calls us to minister in relationships. The fullness of the Gospel is found in the corporate body of Christ, the church, the relationship among the members of the body. To be involved in evangelism means to be a friend who nurtures his/her friend into a relationship with God.

Satan is busy at work spreading his deception to all those he can reach.  In order to expose these lies, you must wield the sword of the Spirit (the word of God) and pierce the outward appearance of these lies with scriptural truth.  Only the word of God can tear away the sheepskin to reveal the wolf lurking within.
