Our Commitment to You
ForMinistry—an Internet ministry of the American Bible Society—is committed to protecting your privacy. If you have questions about this statement or your use of the ForMinistry.com Web site, please contact us by email (info@forministrykenya.com).
Changes in this statement are posted on our home page and emailed to Editors 10 days before the effective date of the new statement.
Use of Information
ForMinistry does not collect personal information about site visitors unless they knowingly provide it.
ForMinistry Site Visitors -
We collect names and email addresses of site visitors only if they request the eJournal, eNews or other information of interest.
ForMinistry Editors -
If you register for a Web site or a Church Directory listing, we collect your street address, phone numbers, email addresses, and additional URLs. Editors can access and change this information at any time.
Our Church Directory publishes the church address, phone number, and email address of church sites hosted at ForMinistry; this information is accessible through our Church Directory search engine.
ForMinistry shares identifying church information with the American Bible Society. We do not disclose identifying church or editor information to third parties without your written consent.
Changing Information
If you are an editor, you can review and update personal or church information by doing the following:
To change personal information:
- Enter your church Web site name
- Login with your username and password
- Click on “edit profile” on the Editor's Toolbar on the right top of screen.
To change church information:
- Enter your church Web site name.
- Login with your username and password.
- Click on Manage Site.
- Click on Site Admin.
- Click on Edit Org.
Use of IP Addresses
An IP address is a number assigned to your computer (usually through your ISP) so you can access the Web. Web servers identify your computer by this IP address. We use it to administer our Web site, identify you, and gather broad demographic information.
Use of Cookies
Cookies are pieces of information that Web servers place on your computer for record-keeping purposes. A cookie is a file saved on your computer when you come to our Web site, which lets us recognize you. Using cookies is an industry standard. You will find cookies used at most Web sites, and your browsers accept cookies by default.
ForMinistry uses cookies to:
- Ensure secure editing to editors

We send you information using three email lists - eJournal, eNews, and Tips-ForMinistry - that you can subscribe and unsubscribe to. A fourth one, eMail Alerts, is reserved for notices regarding our services, system administration, policy, etc.
A. eJournal
Church Editors are automatically subscribed to our eJournal, "eQuipped ForMinistry", a monthly emailing dedicated to helping you use your Web site effectively, with articles on ministry topics, tips on technical issues, and other related subjects. You may cancel this subscription any time.

B. eNews
Church Editors are also automatically subscribed to ForMinistry's eNews, an occasional emailing (usually less than once a month) containing information about resources and opportunities from ABS and ForMinistry's various ministry partners. You may cancel this subscription any time.

C. Tips-ForMinistry
Tips-ForMinistry is a new, weekly mailing containing short (less than 1 page) tips on design tips, promotion strategies, content ideas and other thoughts on using the Web for real online ministry. The tips are usually not specific to ForMinistry and are meant to be useful for anyone managing a church's or ministry's website.

D. Email Alerts
Editors may from time to time receive ForMinistry's Email Alerts, our way of sending them important information about their sites or ForMinistry's operations. All Editors must be able to receive Email Alerts through the email address they have registered in their Editor's Profile. This is a requirement for using ForMinistry's services. Please see ForMinistry's End User License Agreement for details.
Data Integrity
Accessing account information is limited to editors via login ID and password, and to ForMinistry system administrators.
We do not monitor or modify information provided by site users unless we have to do it to:
- Conform to legal requirements.
- Protect and defend the rights, reputation, or property of ForMinistry and the American Bible Society.
- Enforce the terms of use of our services.
Our servers are behind firewalls to prevent unauthorized external access to the site's database; we do periodic data back-up and integrity checks.
Should you ever see what appears to be a potential or actual lapse in security and/or a misuse of our services, please send email immediately to info@forministrykenya.com and we will investigate at once.
Links to other Web sites
ForMinistry wants you to be aware that when you click on links at ForMinistry.com that take you to other Web sites, you become subject to the privacy policies in effect at those sites. We advise you to read the posted privacy statement and user terms and conditions whenever interacting with, and prior to providing any personal information to, any other Web site.
